Passenger baggage that the airline agrees to transport while accepting responsibility for its safety is marked with a baggage tag and transported in the hold, and is called checked baggage.

Please note:

All flights operated by Aeroflot use a piece concept system (based on the number of checked baggage pieces to be transported). This system distinguishes between different classes of service and/or applicable fares and destinations.

Attention!

Measures to enforce the ban are carried out by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation with the assistance of the airport staff and airline employees under the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1947 dated 1 November 2022. Federal Law No. 95-FZ dated 21.04.2025 Read more.

You can familiarize yourself with the baggage allowance regulations for flights operated jointly with Pobeda Airlines here.

Flights operated under agreements with Aeroflot Airlines

On direct and connecting routes (without a stopover) involving code share flights operated by Aurora (HZ) on Q-400 aircraft, the free baggage allowance is one piece with a weight not exceeding 23 kg for all fare families (regardless of the class of service) that include free baggage allowance.

If a trip involves flights by carriers other than Aeroflot, including code-sharing flights, the free baggage allowance is determined according to the rules of the route's most significant carrier (detailed information is available from our Contact Centre).

If separate tickets have been purchased for separate flights along a route, the free checked baggage allowances specified on the tickets are used for the corresponding flights.

Travelling with children

Children aged 2 to 12, as well as infants under 2 with a separate seat, are entitled to the same free checked baggage allowance as adult passengers.

Infants (without a separate seat) with tickets from the Base/Shuttle fare family are not eligible for a free baggage allowance.

Combining checked baggage by weight

If the ticket fare provides free baggage allowance:

  • the baggage can be combined by weight upon the request of the passengers that are travelling together (family members, travel companions, persons going on the same business trip), provided that they approach the check-in desk at the same time. The weight and number of checked-in baggage pieces cannot exceed the total norm for all the passengers travelling together. The weight of the baggage piece must not exceed 32 kg, and the sum of its 3 dimensions must not exceed 203 cm. Heavy (over 32 kg) and/or oversized (over 203 cm in the sum of 3 dimensions) baggage is paid for according to the appropriate fare.
  • several pieces of baggage carried by one passenger can be combined as well, if the ticket fare covers a baggage allowance of more than one piece. The total number of baggage pieces must not exceed the norm.

If the fare does not include free baggage allowance, but the passengers travelling together have pre-purchased baggage allowance:

  • the baggage can be combined by weight according to the respective fare upon the request of the passengers that are travelling together (family members, travel companions, persons going on the same business trip), provided that they approach the check-in desk at the same time. The weight of the combined baggage piece must not exceed 32 kg, and the sum of its 3 dimensions must not exceed 203 cm. The total number of baggage pieces being combined must not exceed the number of pieces that were paid for, as per the travel documents that confirm baggage carriage purchase. Heavy (over 32 kg) and/or oversized (over 203 cm in the sum of 3 dimensions) baggage is paid for according to the appropriate fare.

Baggage carried free of charge in addition to the free baggage allowance does not participate in combining the baggage weight. This applies to:

  • Infinite, Infinite Pro, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Basic Pro members of the Aeroflot Bonus loyalty programme;
  • sports equipment carried as per special seasonal promotions (e.g., a set of ski or snowboarding equipment, a set of surfing/diving equipment);
  • Purchased baggage pieces cannot be combined by weight with the baggage pieces under free baggage allowance.

For security reasons, all passenger baggage, including cabin baggage, must be presented at check-in.

Passenger baggage that the airline agrees to transport while accepting responsibility for its safety is marked with a baggage tag and transported in the hold, and is called checked baggage.

Please note:
