Transportation of baggage and carry-on bags

baggage_header.jpg

All the baggage being transported by passengers, including baggage in the aircraft cabin, must be presented at check-in, as stipulated by safety requirements.

The passenger's baggage, accepted by the airline for transportation while undertaking responsibility for its safety, is marked using a baggage tag and carried in the aircraft's baggage compartment, and is known as registered baggage.

A piece-based system of carriage of registered baggage (based on the number of cargo pieces) is in effect on all proprietary flights operated by Aeroflot. The piece-based system is differentiated depending on the class of service and/or type of applied fare.

If the total weight of the passenger's baggage, including carry-on bags, does not exceed 10 kg, then the number of pieces of free baggage being registered is not limited.

The number of pieces of registered baggage carried free of charge is stated in the ticket/passenger receipt as 1PC/2PC/3PC.

The above free baggage allowance for the registered baggage is in effect for the entire route in both directions, from the point of baggage registration to the destination or to the first stop point en-route for more than 24 hours, on condition that all flights are made on Aeroflot aircraft.

On flights performed by partners based on a joint flight operation agreement , the carrier airline's baggage allowance may be in effect. If flights operated by carriers other than Aeroflot participate in the carriage, including flights jointly operated with other airlines, the free baggage allowance is determined using the rules of the dominant carrier of the route (more detailed information is available in the contact centre).

On flights jointly operated by Aurora and Rossiya airlines, the baggage allowance for Aeroflot flights is in effect.

Exception: routes involving jointly operated flights performed by the airline Aurora: SU3630-3639, SU4526-4545, SU4591-4629, the free baggage allowance for registered baggage for all fare families is limited to one piece.

If separate tickets are being used for carriage along the route, the baggage allowance for the registered baggage at each section corresponds to the free baggage allowance for the registered baggage indicated in the tickets.

Children aged from 2 to 12 have the same free baggage allowance for registered baggage as adult passengers.

For infants and toddlers up to 2 years old (without provision of a separate seat), the free baggage allowance for registered baggage amounts to 1 piece weighing not more than 10 kg, the total of dimensions of which must not exceed 115 cm regardless of the class of service.
