Over 3,000 Wwii Veterans Used Aeroflot’s Free Ticket Offer

Aeroflot – Russian Airlines finished its traditional May action for veterans of WWII in 2006 “The Places of Battle Honor”. Aeroflot granted to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, former prisoners of fascism, Leningrad blockade survivors, invalids of War the charge-free flights via Aeroflot’s regular routes to any destination in Russia, CIS, Baltic States and Eastern and Western Europe.

Over 900 veterans in Moscow received their free tickets at Aeroflot’s desks, while 2,175 tickets were distributed via the company’s regional offices. A lot of veterans were able to come to Moscow or to Saint-Petersburg to take part in the celebrations.

The information about the Places Of Battle Honor action had been timely disseminated in the Russian regions operated by Aeroflot. Hundreds of local papers and TV programmes informed veterans about the airlines’ free-of-charge offer.

In the six years of the May project, devoted to the Victory day celebrations, over 23,000 people have used the free offer by Aeroflot. The Company receives multiple words of appreciation from veterans committees and other public organizations, and in turn expresses appreciation to the personnel, state and public organizations who have supported this project. “Thanks to Aeroflot, we have enjoyed the free service for several years, traveling to meet our friends and relatives. We particularly appreciate that the airlines’ staff do their best to ensure that we feel comfortable and safe during the check-in procedure and onboard,” wrote veterans from Omsk.

The company’s staff spare no effort in making every flight a pleasant and entertaining event for a veteran.
