Aeroflot welcomes implementation in Russia of e-ticketing, inaugurating important benchmark in developing of e-commerce in general.
E-ticket means additional and convenient instrument for passengers, saving of time spent on purchasing of aviation ticket, new opportunities in full scale enjoining of web-reservations and web-purchasing, which represent the most rapidly segment of global aviation market.
The Aeroflot management believes that implementation in our country of this service would facilitate business activities and enable Russian aviation companies to compete on international markets on much more fare and equal basis, especially considering that e-ticketing is wide spread there. Implementation of e-ticketing in Russia will allow aviation carriers to participate in more efficient way in cooperation under "interline" and "code-sharing" arrangements, create additional prerequisites for active collaboration in global industrial processes.
Aeroflot would like to express appreciation to the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Finance for support and great deal of work done to make implementation of e-ticketing in Russia possible.
Currently e-tickets are available for reservation through Internet with its cost payable by credit cards, however issuing of paper copy still remains obligatory.
