Aeroflot is due to open its offices in the V kontakte and Facebook social networking sites as well as in the Twitter micro blog system starting from December 2010. Besides, a personal blog of Vitali Saveliev, the Chief Executive Officer of Aeroflot, on the LiveJournal platform will start working soon while his Micro Blog in Twitter is already operating.
The number of active users of Russian social networks makes up 34.5 million people according to recent estimates. Modern standards of living and communication predetermine that every company willing to interact with its clients in a closest, most efficient and fastest way possible needs to be represented in social networks. In this connection Aeroflot is planning to actively join in this new type of communication which is swiftly gaining popularity.
The objectives of such representation is to publish the news and some other important, useful and interesting information about Aeroflot together with providing a quick response to the feedback of the company’s clients. According to Vitali Saveliev, “social networking sites make it possible to directly contact an Aeroflot representative, including the Chief Executive Officer of the company, without facing any bureaucratic obstacles. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines is planning to open its own corporate video channel which will show the life of the company on the Internet.
