The annual global meeting of flight safety experts – representatives of the member companies of the international Skyteam alliance was held in Moscow. For the first time JSC “Aeroflot” was the recipient part of this forum.
Matters of evaluation and classification of present threats were considered during the meeting. One of the main issues was harmonization of normative requirements.
Experts considered the matters in respect of restrictions to fluids and baggage in cabin, suppressing illegal migration and falsified papers, analyzed use of the latest passenger scanning facilities highly efficient ensuring lowest radiation levels.
Air Safety Service (ASS) of Aeroflot presented to its foreign colleagues its own dog-breeding service using dogs of unique genepool with extremely sensitive nose to detect explosive materials. This hybrid is created on the basis of Arctic laika and subtropical jackal. The company also demonstrated its new product – a specially developed tool for air intake to prevent presence on board of explosives, weapon and ammunition keeping smells for a long time. The problem of illegal interference in actions of flight crew attracted general attention. Airline representatives shared experience in combating such phenomena, including suppression of “disturbing passengers”.
According to Vladimir Antonov, Deputy General Director for Production Activities of Aeroflot, “ensuring air safety is the key duty of the whole air industry globally and cooperation of experts within the frameworks of SkyTeam brings real and good results”.
JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” (AFLT) is a certain leader of civil aviation in Russia, actually a national carrier. Being the largest domestic airline company it transports over 7 mln. of people annually and together with its subsidiaries – about 9 mln., i.e. 23% of the total amount of Russian air passengers.
