Information for passengers flying from Milan-Malpensa after 26 July

24 July 2019, Moscow. – Aeroflot informs that starting from 27 July, Malpensa (IATA code - MXP) - Milan’s major airport, will operate at its peak capacity. Preflight procedure times will likely increase, passenger crowding at all control points is expected.

Aeroflot advises passengers flying from Milan after 26 July 2019 to arrive early for airport check-in – at least three hours before the scheduled departure time.

The closure of the terminal of Milan-Linate airport (IATA code – LIN) for renovation on 27 July will hamper operations at Malpensa. All Linate-serviced flights will be transferred to Malpensa until the end of airport  reconstruction. According to preliminary information, constraints will be ongoing until 26 October.

Due to the Malpensa airport infrastructure limitations no extra check-in counters, or more jet bridges, or ground handling equipment can be provided.   The majority of Linate airport staff cannot be transferred to Malpensa because of the Italian labour legislation. Thus, the airport will handle increased workload with fewer resources. As a result, delays in departures and arrivals are likely to occur.
