Vincent Harrison, Managing Director of Dublin Airport, welcomed the announcement and said the new Aeroflot flight would offer Irish consumers direct connectivity to Russia’s capital and onward connections to many other cities. “There is a strong commercial demand for this new service, as about 44,000 passengers travelled on indirect flights between Ireland and Russia last year.”
Dublin is the capital city of the Republic of Ireland, famous as a cultural centre and renowned for its history and architecture. The city is associated with numerous writers including James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde and Jonathan Swift, while music lovers know it as the hometown of iconic rock band U2.
