August 16, 2010, Moscow. The ‘Vozrozhdenie’ bank has won an open tender conducted by JSC ‘Aeroflot -Russian Airlines’ where it was selected to implement a system for making customs payments using bank cards of the ‘Green Corridor’ payment system.
For a foreign trader, the ‘Green Corridor’ payment card is a universal key to its special bank account intended for settlements related to customs transactions. The card allows its user to make all mandatory payments, including VAT, state fees, customs charges, excises, fines, and penalties in cashless form directly at a customs office during the customs clearance procedure.
‘‘Vozrozhdenie’ was one of the first to start operations in the ‘Green Corridor’ customs payment system as an issuer and, also, it is one of the two settlement banks operating in the payment system. This system allows our customers to significantly reduce the customs clearance time and mitigate risks by slashing the chain of payments. One may note with pleasure that Russia’s largest carrier showed itself as an advanced-thinking company that is able to implement innovative and efficient business solutions’, said Lyudmila Goncharova, deputy chairperson of the bank’s management board.
‘In implementing the project, we were actively cooperating with the ‘Vozrozhdenie’ bank, the ‘Green Corridor’ customs payment system, and the Sheremetyevo customs office. The partners were rapidly responding to our requests, took into account specific features of our business, and were very helpful in implementing the product that was new for us. We have gained an experience of beautiful mutual understanding and cooperation,’ said Shamil Kurmashov, deputy director-general of JSC ‘Aeroflot’ for finances and investments.
Currently 25% of all customs payments in Russia are made using bank card. The advantages of the ‘Green Corridor’ customs payment system have been highly appreciated by customers of the ‘Vozrozhdenie’ bank, including LG Electronics Rus, Hunday Motors CIS, OOO Kampina, OOO Tandem, Byurokrat group of companies, Protek pharmaceutical company, and the Khabarovsk-based Arkaim plant.
