Moscow/Monaco, May 12, 2015. — Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship carrier, and Group Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, synonym of excellence and glamour in the world of luxury tourism, are pleased to announce a unique culinary partnership as part of the 2015 Year of Russia in Monaco.
The year-long partnership is part of Aeroflot’s continual quest to innovate, and will see business class passengers on long-haul and medium-haul flights served dishes created by four chefs from Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, three of whom each hold one Michelin star and one holder of the distinguished Meilleur Ouvrier de France award.
Joël Garault, chef of Le Vistamar restaurant at Hôtel Hermitage, launched the prestigious operation on 1 February. Marcel Ravin, from the Blue Bay restaurant at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, will take over in June, followed in the second half of 2015 by Paolo Sari from the 100% organic Elsa restaurant at the Monte-Carlo Beach. Then it will be the turn of Jean-Claude Brugel, chef at Café de Paris and Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Each chef will create signature or unique dishes for three months.

The chefs, whose culinary talent delights guests on terra firma, will find themselves challenged by their unfamiliar obligations. For example, everything must be cooked on the ground, with only reheating possible during the flight.
This challenge is a first for Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. The association with Aeroflot, one of Europe’s leading airlines with the youngest fleet of any major carrier worldwide, is an innovative opportunity to show appreciation for know-how by offering passengers a high-flying culinary experience signed by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.
The four Monegasque chefs involved in the partnership will team up with well-known Russian chefs: Andrey Shmakov from Hotel Metropol, brothers Ivan and Serguey Berezutskiy from Twins restaurant, Vladimir Mukhin from the White Rabbit. All of the chefs will also take in developing Aeroflot’s in-flight business class menu and in the Russian gastronomic season being held in Monaco on 12-19 June 2015.
