Aeroflot and Alfa-Bank: online sale of tickets has been transferred to Internet bank acquiring

Beginning August 2010, Alfa-Bank will provide Internet acquiring for Aeroflot, that is, processing of Internet payments by plastic cards. Now payments for online-booked airline tickets will entirely go through the Alfa-Bank processing system, thus avoiding any intermediates.

The procedure for online booking and payment for tickets will not change significantly for customers but it may become faster and safer after switching to Alfa-Bank Internet acquiring. A major advantage of Alfa-Bank Internet acquiring is that both processing of operations and execution of plastic card payments are now performed at the bank side. Furthermore, the multilayer system for fraud prevention and monitoring of risky operations implemented in Alfa-Bank processing center allows prevention of even non-standard fraud operations.

Alfa-Bank has allocated computational resources and updated software solutions specifically for Aeroflot-related operations. Being part of the unified Alfa-Bank IT structure, the Internet acquiring system is protected by the all-bank multilayer IT security complex, which also ensures system persistence against hacker attacks.

“Alfa-Bank has been developing Internet acquiring since 2000 and has since accumulated vast experience that will allow smooth handling of such a company as Aeroflot. We also hope that handling of payments in Alfa-Bank processing center will boost customer confidence in payments for tickets by plastic cards via the Internet,” says Alexey Marey, Alfa-Bank Board Member, Head of “Retail Business” block.
