In honor of its 90th anniversary Aeroflot set in operation a Sukhoi Superjet 100 with jubilee livery. The «B. Borisov» aircraft rejoined the airline’s fleet painted in traditional Russian khokhloma style. This bright and remarkable livery was painted in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where the aircraft had been sent on June 28.
The livery is based on the design made by Alexander Sosnovskiy, the winner of «Paint the Plane of Aeroflot» contest which the company announced earlier this year to celebrate the 90th anniversary.
Aeroflot organized an internet-voting among the passengers to choose 10 best designs among over 7,000 works received during the contest. In the course of the second tour an authoritative jury of Aeroflot’s top-managers and independent experts chose the winning design (available at http://afl-paint.ru/winners/).
The final draft was designed in accordance with the voters’ comments and taking into account safety standards and recommendations from «Sukhoi Civil Aircraft» considering the paint spraying and its technical and performance parameters. Aeroflot’s fleet is one of the youngest in Europe.
The flag carrier currently operates 137 aircrafts including 10 Russian short-haul airliners Sukhoi Superjet 100 one of which now has the anniversary livery.
Сelebrating its 90-th anniversary in 2013, Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship airline and the largest national air company.
