Aeroflot–Russian Airlines have been included into the list of 25 top world airline companies according to financial results. In July issue of a well-known magazine Air Transport World (ATW) Aeroflot was listed at 13th place according to Net Income and at 20th place according to Operating Income.
As it has been communicated earlier, according to the results of 2003 Aeroflot Net Income Amounted to 126.7 Mio USD, and revenue reached 1 716.0 Mio USD (IAS reporting).
According to Aeroflot Director General Valery Okulov the achieved result is an indication of positive changes which occurred in the last few years in the corporate management and increasing the efficiency of its activity. “Demonstrating high results Aeroflot attracts more and more attention as a significant participant of the world market of air carriages”, Valery Okulov stressed.
Aeroflot–Russian Airlines (RTS: AFLT) is the largest Russian Company. The state owns 51 per cent of its stocks. It was established in 1923. It controls 11 per cent of home and 39 per cent of international market of air carriages of Russia. According to RAP net income amounted to 3 978 million rubles in 2003. In 2003 Aeroflot transported 5.9 million passengers. There are 92 airliners in its fleet. Its headquarter is located in Moscow in Sheremetyevo Airport.
