About the City
Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland, stands on the shore of the Irish Sea, at the mouth of the River Liffey, which divides the city into two parts, connected by 24 bridges. The most famous of them, known as Ha’Penny Bridge, leads to the historic Temple Bar district with its noisy streets and lively pubs. The most original designs are considered to be the Samuel Beckett and James Joyce bridges, named after the famous writers, both natives of Dublin. Guests of the Irish capital should definitely visit the ancient Dublin Castle and enter the world of amazing Irish folklore at the National Leprechaun Museum. But the most striking event in the calendar is always St. Patrick's Day, famed for its boisterous parades full of joy and merriment, when the entire city is bathed in green light and decorations.
