Greetings from Vitaly Saveliev, General Director of PJSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines"
Welcome aboard this Aeroflot aircraft.
The long-awaited summer holidays are here — a time for exciting travel and joyful gatherings. Our route map can help you plan your next trip, and in July it will add new destinations. Lovers of Italy will welcome direct flights from Moscow to Verona and Naples. Both cities are UNESCO World Heritage Centres, rich in history and architecture with notable landmarks and outstanding art museums and galleries. And the summer opera festival, held again this year at the ancient Arena di Verona amphitheatre, is considered one of the premier events in the global musical calendar.
TAmong Aeroflot’s new destinations is the Bulgarian city of Burgas. This part of the wonderful Black Sea coast has long attracted Russian tourists, who love to visit this friendly and hospitable city. Additionally, we continue to strengthen ties with our neighbour to the south in Central Asia, Kazakhstan. Kyzylorda became the ninth Kazakhstan city to which Aeroflot flies directly. In the Summer Schedule we have also increased flight frequencies to existing locations in Kazakhstan: we now operate 12 flights from Moscow to Astana per week (up from nine) and seven per week from Moscow to Aktobe (up from four).
Growing transit traffic between Europe and Asia remains a key strategic priority for Aeroflot. The best confirmation that our efforts are working in this area was being recognised as China’s Favourite International Airline for the second year in a row. This landmark achievement strengthens our position not only in the world’s most populous country, but also globally.
Aeroflot ranks among the top five European airlines and top 20 global airlines by passenger traffic. Aeroflot’s leading position is further confirmed by prestigious international awards. Brand Finance, a UK consultancy, named Aeroflot the world’s strongest airline brand for the second year in a row, while TripAdvisor users have recognised Aeroflot one of Europe’s leading airlines, also for a second year. Aeroflot maintains 4-Star Airline status from Skytrax and is rated a Five Star Global Airline by US airline association APEX.
Each of these awards is the result of incredibly hard work by the entire Aeroflot team. But we don’t plan to rest on our laurels. Ahead of us are new and ambitious goals. One of the first is growing the number of Aeroflot passengers. To reach this goal Aeroflot will not only launch new routes, but also continue to strengthen the quality of service and elevate passenger comfort.
The first steps here include significantly speeding up pre-flight procedures, making carry-on luggage and checked baggage rules more orderly, and improving processing of incoming customer communication.
We continue to roll out new technologies across all areas of the company’s activities, and the onboard Wi-Fi service will be significantly expanded. Passengers on all long-haul flights already have Internet access, and soon this service will be expanded to medium-haul aircraft.
I welcome your suggestions and comments.
