JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” within the frameworks of its cooperation with the Olympic committee of Russia and the Application committee “Sochi – 2014” arranged two special flights from Moscow to Guatemala, the capital of Guatemala, to carry the Russian delegation for participation in the session of the International Olympic Committee. As it’s known, the capital of the Winter Olympic Games 2014 will be chosen during the session of the IOC; Russian Sochi is one of the applicants.
Passengers are carried by flights on June 24 and July 2 by the route Moscow – Guatemala by Boeing 767. The return flight to Moscow is planned on July 6 by the route Guatemala – Havana – Moscow.
There were some difficulties in obtaining flight clearance for Aeroflot, since Russian airline companies almost do not fly to this region. With respect to the importance of the event Aeroflot managed to find needed aircrafts in the high season. Employees of the Flight control centre (FCC), Air-technical center (ATC) and other subdivisions of the company ensured fueling and technical maintenance of Aeroflot aircrafts in Guatemala.
