The international Sheremetyevo Airport proudly announces the special flights for the war veteransflying to Moscow to take part in the celebratory events within the 65th Victory Anniversary.
In the period of May 6-7, the airport’s festively decorated terminals are welcoming groups of veterans taking part in the Victory Parade at the Red Square. 24 flights from the USA, France, Germany, Poland, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia and Russia will be carryingvets to the main parade ofRussia’s most significant celebration.
The staff of Sheremetyevo and Aeroflot Russian Airlines have done their best to arrange the most comfortable environment for the vets and their accompanying persons both on board and at the terminals and uphold the spirit ofthe Moscow celebration. The veterans of the Great Patriotic War are provided with free access to the airport’s VIP lounges and taxi services, as well as specially reserved hotel accommodation. As an additional convenience, airport staff offer the veterans andaccompanying personsbooklets with information on the airport services, useful contacts,and transport services info. All the Great Patriotic War vets traveling both individually and in groups aregiven personal attention and all the necessary assistance and support from Sheremetyevo and Aeroflot’s staff around the clock. At arrival, groups of vets and workers of the home frontare met and escorted to their temporary Moscow accommodation by representatives of the Russian Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Transport, Moscow social welfare organizations and medical officers. The campaign is being conducted under the special control of Aeroflot’s management of and the responsible joint operational center.
The Sheremetyevo airport and Terminal D managementhave worked out a special procedure for all the pre- and after-flight formalities. Dedicated check-in, passport and customs control counters are opened for the vets and their accompanying persons. Baggage handling and claim are carried out in a special order.
During the celebration days,guests of Terminal D are welcome to visit the exhibition ‘The Winged Memory of the War’ with photos of classic airplanes. And from May 8, Terminal F invites guests to the art exhibition'The World of Freedom and Happiness 'also dedicated to the Great Victory. The exposition will feature pacifist works of Russian artists.
Guests at the airport halls can hear greetings and words of gratitude to our hero warriors, and some useful information about complimentary services provided by the airport and its partners.
JSC Terminal, the management company of the Sheremetyevo Terminal D, is collaborating with the concessioners to hold a series of special celebratory events. The Interbuket company is presenting all veterans and senior guests of the airportwith carnations and St. George’s ribbons, while special gifts have been prepared for the vets by the NeoFarm drugstores. The Rosinter Restaurants company are inviting arriving veterans to relax and have a complimentary cup of coffee with sweets at their cozy restaurants. Special offers and discounts await guests at the Italian Deli andHub-Minimarketshops.
This year, Aeroflot along with its traditional free flights for veterans within the 'Following the Battlefield Glory' campaign, is offering veterans, victims of the siege of Leningrad, ex-prisoners of Nazi camps, and disabled veterans of the GPW a unique opportunity to fly with its regular flightsfrom Russia and the CIS and Baltic countries to destinations in Europe.
We also would like to remind that all veterans arriving at Sheremetyevo to take part in the Moscow celebration willreceive traditional free tickets to the Moscow public transport from the capital’s transport authorities.
