Aeroflot Third New Boeing 777-300ER Enters Service

March 29, 2013 MOSCOW

Aeroflot puts its third brand new Boeing 777-300ER into service in accordance with the delivery plan and without any delays. The aircraft is named in honor of Prince Mikhail B. Barclay de Tolly (1761-1818), Russian Field Marshal and Minister of War during the Patriotic War of 1812 against the Napoleonic forces.

This Boeing 777-300ER is the third to join the Aeroflot fleet out of 16 aircraft ordered by the air company in 2011. The forthcoming supplies will significantly strengthen Aeroflot long-haul transport capacities and contribute greatly to the improvement of the on-board service, meeting the growing demand of the air carrier’s customers.

There are three classes of service on board of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft — in addition to Business and Economy, Aeroflot is introducing Comfort (Premium Economy) class of service, providing more additional amenities for a reasonable price. The new Comfort Class cabin provides enhanced seating, more menu options, two pieces of luggage and more bonus miles for flights for Aeroflot Bonus Programme members.

Boeing 777-300ER is considered to be one of the best twin-engine jet airliners in the world and is characterized by outstanding fuel efficiency, great salon space, long flight range and high reliability. The airplane interior, also known as the Boeing Signature Interior, is famous for larger overhead bins and spacious storage area. All these features made Boeing 777-300ER very popular among air passengers worldwide.

Currently Aeroflot Boeing 777-300ER’s are providing services to Bangkok and Phuket (Thailand). According to the recently presented Summer Schedule 2013 B777-300ER’s will start flying to New-York (USA), Hong-Kong (China) and to the Russian domestic destinations as well — Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski.

Celebrating its 90-th anniversary in 2013, Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship airline and the largest national air company. Proudly being a member of SkyTeam global airline alliance, Aeroflot with its partnering members provides service to 1000 destinations in 187 countries. Aeroflot operates one of the most modern and youngest fleets in Europe counting 132 aircraft formed by Airbus, Boeing and Sukhoi airliners with an average airplane age of 5 years. In 2012 Aeroflot carried 17,7 million passengers, continuously showing the best results in modern Russia’s history. In the same year Aeroflot received Readers’ Choice Condé Nast Traveller Award as the best Russian airline. Find more at www.aeroflot.ru.
