Aeroflot CEO re-elected to IATA Board of Governors

MOSCOW, 9 JUNE 2015. — Aeroflot (Moscow Exchange ticker: AFLT) is pleased to note that its CEO Vitaly Saveliev has been elected to the Board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the third time.

Vitaly Saveliev was reelected to another three-year term of office running through 2018 at the 71st IATA AGM currently being held in Miami.

The Board of Governors is IATA’s governing body, and reports to the General Assembly. It exercises an oversight and executive role on behalf of the membership as a whole in representing the interests of the Association. The Board of Governors comprises 30 individuals drawn from the CEOs of the 250 IATA-associated major airlines.

The reelection of the CEO of Russia’s flagship carrier to the Board of Governors of the world’s premier airline trade association is recognition of Aeroflot’s reputation as a leading global player and the strength of its corporate governance and strategic development.

IATA was founded in 1945 and is headquarters in Montreal. The Association brings together key carriers to coordinate and advocate industry positions on vital issues such as aviation safety, flight operation, airfare policy and technical maintenance. IATA drafts and issues international standards, and provides professional training and consulting services.

Aeroflot has held IATA membership since 1989.
