AEROFLOT PROVES COMPLIANCE WITH IOSA STANDARDS FOR THE 3RD TIME
June 5 2009, Moscow. – JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines successfully completed the third regular procedure of IOSA (IATA Operational Security Audit). The IOSA certificate and the status of IOSA-registered operator, that Aeroflot first obtained four years ago, have been prolonged through 2011.
Aeroflot again has confirmed its status of IOSA operator, and proved its compliance with international standards of operational security, which is the principal criterion of a carrier’s quality and a warranty of high flight safety provided by the company.
The audit was conducted in the following activity areas:
• Organisation and Management Systems;
• Flight Operations;
• Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance;
• Aircraft Ground Handling;
• Operational Control / Flight Dispatch;
• Cabin Operations;
• Cargo Operations;
• Operational Security.
IOSA certificate confirms that Aeroflot employs cutting-edge standards in operational security management, gives an incentive to expand international cooperation with leading air carriers, facilitates entering new markets, and enhances the spectrum of the company’s services.
Implementation of IOSA standards in the Aeroflot subsidiaries became an important step towards better operational safety management of Aeroflot Group. In 2008, IOSA certificate was given to JSC Aeroflot Don.
