Greetings from Vitaly Saveliev, General Director of PJSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines"
Welcome on board this Aeroflot flight!
This summer is notable for many important events for our company. One of these was the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, where the Skytrax World Airline awards ceremony was held. Every year these awards, considered the most prestigious in the global aviation industry, are given in recognition of high-quality passenger service.
Aeroflot was named Best Airline in Eastern Europe for the sixth time in its history and the fifth year in a row. Furthermore, we ranked 30th in Skytrax’s list of the world’s best airlines, climbing ten places from last year.
Our low-cost carrier Pobeda has also enjoyed considerable success. It was the highest-ranked budget carrier among the top 10 airlines in Eastern Europe, reaching eighth overall on the list.
Such high-level recognition is not awarded lightly, but we must improve our quality everyday. Skytrax, which is considered the world authority in the field, carries out a rigorous valuation of airline service quality. The World Airline Awards are thus often referred to unofficially as the Oscars of the aviation industry.
In 2017, we competed with 320 airlines from around the world for awards in various categories. Skytrax published the list of the 100 best airlines on its website, based on the results of world’s most comprehensive passenger survey. Almost 20 million travellers assessed the contenders on 49 different parameters of service.
On behalf of everyone at Aeroflot, I thank all of our clients who voted for us, and I assure you that we do not intend to slow down our progress. Our aim is to be recognised as the best airline in all of Europe. If our other achievements are anything to go by, then we believe that this goal is feasible. Last year, Aeroflot became the first Russian carrier to be awarded 4-Star Airline status by Skytrax, confirming that we now rank solidly among the elite of global aviation.
In spring of this year, Aeroflot was recognised as the best airline in Europe by users of TripAdvisor, the largest travel site in the world. The opinion of travellers was the main measure used to determine the winners of Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards. We were also voted as having the Best Business Class of any airline worldwide, and named Best Russian Airline.
But the most important award for us is your approval and your choice to fly with Aeroflot. Our absolute priority is to continue developing our service, and improving both service quality and the level of digital technology that we use on board. I wish you a pleasant and comfortable flight, and hope that we can impress you to choose to fly with us again as a result.
Fly with Aeroflot — the internationally recognised elite airline!
Your feedback and opinions are very important to us.
I will be happy to answer any of your questions by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Aeroflot – Russian Airlines
Before Peter the Great, Russia celebrated New Year on September 1 — and for good reason. Many things have changed over the last three centuries, but the symbolic meaning linked to the end of the summer and beginning of autumn — when we reap the rewards of the harvest — remains.
The August/September issue of Aeroflot magazine celebrates the theme of fruitfulness: we have gathered the freshest and most seasonal ideas and articles, written by experts, travelers, and food lovers alike, to make sure you enjoy Russia’s Indian summer. You’ll find provincial treasures, Russian food as you’ve never seen it before, interviews, and investigate what the Svistoplyaska is and how it is related to the Dymka toys craft. Make the most of warm weather and fly in style and comfort with Aeroflot to one of our many destinations.
Enjoy the summer!

The great fictional explorer, Phileas Fogg, travelled the world in 80 days. He journeyed from London to Suez, and then onto the likes of Bombay, Calcutta, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and New York, before arriving back in the English capital — all via railway and steamboats. His trip was arduous to say the least.
Luckily for Aeroflot passengers, travelling is a little more comfortable these days — and a lot quicker. Russia’s flagship carrier now flies to 51 countries around the globe and unrivalled service comes as standard, as well as each brand new edition of Aeroflot Premium magazine.
Inside you’ll find a selection of the month’s most anticipated events, the best hotels, restaurant openings, gadget reviews, must-read books, fashion tips, and a whole lot more. This issue is all about Russian surfing, Russian wines, and top class development projects in both Moscow and St.Petersburg. There’s also an exclusive interview with Aleksandar Titel, the artistic and chief director of the Stanislavsky Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.
