Aeroflot To Carry Russian Pilgrims Home

Aeroflot – Russian Airlines will accommodate the requests of the Russian Hajj-mission and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, launching services to carry the Russian Hajj pilgrims home from Jordan on 18-28 January, 2006.

Twenty special Aeroflot services operated by IL-86 aircrafts will carry around 7,000 pilgrims, ensuring they will return to Russia avoiding Turkey hit by bird flu.

The first flight Moscow – Amman (Jordan) – Mineralnye Vody is scheduled for 18 January, 5.00 a.m., arrival to Mineralnye Vody at 2.00 p.m. (Moscow time).

The second flight Mineralnye Vody – Amman - Mineralnye Vody is scheduled for 4.00 p.m., arrival to Mineralnye Vody at 11.45 p.m. (Moscow time).

The services will be operated twice a day by two Aeroflot aircrafts and four crews.

Aeroflot had similar experience in February 2004, transporting Russian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
