Aeroflot And Csa Integrated Their Routes

Since July 1st Aeroflot and CSA Czech Airlines have started the joint operation of airlines between the points located in Ireland, Great Britain, Czechia and Russia.

According to this agreement Aeroflot, which has no in-house flights to Dublin, Cork (Ireland), Manchester and Edinburgh (Great Britain), can now sell the transportation services of the CSA flights to the aforesaid points through Prague under its own code. CSA will manage at the same time to expand its network in Russia (Irkutsk, Barnaul, Kemerovo, Omsk) thanks to sales of Aeroflot flights through Moscow.

The airlines will carry out from five up to seven joint flights per week on the route Prague – Moscow – Irkutsk – Moscow – Prague, as well as seven flights per week on the lines Prague – Moscow – Barnaul and return, Prague – Moscow – Omsk and return, Prague – Moscow – Kemerovo and return, using domestically produced aircrafts Tu-154 from the Aeroflot fleet. Seven flights per week will be carried out on the basis of CSA fleet on the lines: Moscow – Prague – Dublin and return, Moscow –Prague – Manchester and return, six flights Moscow – Prague – Cork and return, and five flights Moscow – Prague – Edinburgh and return, using Boeing 737 aircraft.

The total number of code-sharing flights per week in the Aeroflot schedule will be 40.

Introduction of code-sharing flights has increased the range of passengers’ transportation services of both airlines thanks to expansion of the route networks and increase of flight frequency.

Aeroflot and CSA are the members of SkyTeam airline alliance, which also includes: Air France, KLM, Delta, AeroMexico, Alitalia, Korean Air, NWA, Continental Airlines. 2003 CSA and Aeroflot concluded the first code-sharing agreement on the basis of free sale of air services between Prague and Moscow. Aeroflot has by now entered 33 code-sharing agreements.
