Aeroflot Celebrates 50-Th Anniversary Of Regular Flights Between Russia and Austria

Today is the 50-th anniversary of signing of the agreement which had opened a regular flight connection between USSR and Austria. First regular flight on the route Moscow-Vienna-Moscow was made in 1956 by Ilyusjhin 14 airplane. Later this route was served by Tupolev 104 and Ilyushin 62 airplanes. Since summer time 2005 Aeroflot makes 14 flights a week on the route Moscow-Vienna-Moscow by A310 airplanes. Austrian aviation company makes another 18 flights a week on A319.320.321 airplanes. Both Aeroflot and Austrian flights are the code sharing flights. Conveyances on the route Moscow-Vienna-Moscow are developing quite dynamically, and this growth enabled air carriers to increase the number of joint weekly flights up to 32. In 2005 Aeroflot delivered about 92 thousand passengers. In comparison with 2004 the volumes of conveyances have increased by 20.3%. The share of passenger conveyances of Aeroflot in total European offer on Moscow-Vienna-Moscow route is 3-5%.
