AEROFLOT’S ADMINISTRATION ADJUSTS ITS STRATEGY
March 12 2009, Moscow. – Administration of Aeroflot JSC held its regular meeting chaired by CEO Valery Okulov.
Among other questions, the meeting considered Aeroflot Group’s Strategy for the period through 2015, including flight safety measures, operational efficiency, and rollout of regular and charter air traffic of the subsidiaries (JSC Aeroflot Don, CJSC Aeroflot Nord, CJSC Aeroflot Cargo). The strategy subject will be reported at the meeting of company’s Board of Directors scheduled to March 25 2009.
The documents presented at the meeting define Aeroflot’s main targets for 2025, and build on the model of business management within the Group in view of the economic crisis. The documents point out the Group’s leading positions in 2008 in traffic flow both on international and domestic lines. What is more, Aeroflot holds the 1st position in the airline rating, where Aeroflot Don and Aeroflot Nord are respectively No. 11 and No. 15, with a good view of rise in 2009.
The meeting also discussed the subject of budget management in 2009 including the current anti-crisis policies.
Valery Okulov noted that the drop in demand for air transport services calls for an increased commitment and more effective decisions from the company’s administration. The CEO is positive that his colleagues will mobilize all resources to meet the set targets, and will succeed even in the tough economic conditions.
