AEROFLOT AND AIR FRANCE DEVELOP COOPERATION

Beginning from last October Aeroflot Company and Air France make six joint daily flights between Paris (Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport) and Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) instead of three daily flights made earlier by each company separately. Airline companies have special seat quota on each of six joint flights.

Aeroflot flights are made by Airbus A310 and Boeing 737-400 with the first, business and economy classes. Air France flights are made by Airbus A320 with three classes: L’Espace Affairs business class, Tempo Challenge full economy class and Tempo economy class.

Two airline companies cooperation development is a result of the Code-Sharing Agreement signed by Air France President Jean-Cyril Spinetta and Aeroflot Director General Valery Okulov in Paris airport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle on July 23, 2002.

According to the heads of two companies, “This agreement will provide the best service for our companies’ customers doubling Moscow-Paris line capacities”.

In Moscow both companies operate in Sheremeyevo-2 Airport Terminal. In Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport Aeroflot and Air France flights are made from 2B Terminal.

In future the agreement proposes coordination of airline companies’ schedule and development of transit flights from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Sheremetyevo airports.

Now Aeroflot Bonus Program participants have an opportunity to get scores on Moscow-Paris line on Aeroflot and Air France flights if they buy tickets for Aeroflot seats.

The Code-Sharing Agreement signed in Paris is a part of bilateral cooperation between Aeroflot and Air France started in 1997.

AEROFLOT makes flights to more than 100 points of 54 countries of the world. In 2001 the airline company transported 5.8 million passengers, operation revenue amounted to 41.5 billion rubles; net income– 1.3 billion rubles.

AIR FRANCE makes flights to more than 200 points of 85 countries of the world. In 2001/2002 AIR FRANCE transported 43.3 million passengers and sales volume amounted to 12.5 billion Euro; net income – 22 million Euro.
