Aeroflot starts two direct flights from St. Petersburg to Japan

On June 7, 2003, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines starts direct air communication between St. Petersburg and Japan.

Nonstop flights will be made on A310 for routes:

  • St. Petersburg-Tokyo (SU589/590 departure at 19.45 on Saturdays) and
  • St. Petersburg-Osaka (SU549/550 departure at 19.45 on Sundays).
Flights between the north capital and Japan are Aeroflot new product oriented at Russian and Japanese tourists. The airline company’s clients will have the unique opportunity to reduce significantly their travel time.

Earlier passengers could travel to Japan from St. Petersburg through Moscow using Sheremetyevo airport as transit junction. Customers will be offered traditionally high-quality service for first, business and economy classes.

The high level of advance reservation of nonstop plights (more than 80% seats) indicates significant demand for the new service among Aeroflot clients.
