Aeroflot Puts Into Operation A Search-And-Rescue Training Complex “Land-Water”

"Aeroflot" OJSC put into operation a new Training Complex of the Aviation Personnel Training Center (APTC) for search-and-rescue training (SRT) "LAND-WATER".

According to the airline's Director General Valery Okulov "there are no such training facilities both in the CIS and in Eastern Europe, and the existing world analogues are inferior to the Aeroflot's complex in terms of scale of the solved problems, uniqueness of the applied equipment, and its ability to simulate the environment close to reality".

The training complex equipped with up-to-date hardware and software provides training of members of flight crews and flight decks in the conditions mostly close to reality simulating different emergency situations. The search-and-rescue simulator meeting all the Russian and international requirements has been created on the basis of Il-96-300 aircraft and simulates the equipment of the passenger cabin and flight deck, entrances and ladders, which makes possible the joined search-and-rescue training of air stewards and pilots. The complex is also equipped with fully-featured simulators of emergency escapes of Tu-154, A-320, and B-767 aircrafts.

Availability of the pool and swimming facilities of domestically produced and foreign-made aircrafts offer the opportunity to hone the skills of evacuation and survival in case of ditching. The complex has the equipment for full training in extinguishing the "real fire".

The Aviation Personnel Training Center conducts training on the simulator according to the certified retraining and upgrading programs for members of flight crews and flight decks of Tu-154/134, Il-86/96, A-319/320/321, B-767 with issue of an appropriate certificate. Theoretical and practical lessons are conducted by the experienced Aeroflot's instructors, who have been trained in foreign and Russian training centers.

The Aviation Personnel Training Center is located at the address: Russia, 124340, Moscow region, airport Sheremetyevo-1, bldg. 6, APTC of "Aeroflot" OJSC, tel.: 578-79-01, 578-79-13, 578-37-71.
