Aeroflot Acquires The New Airbus A320

Today Russian national aviation carrier JSC "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines" has received the new A320 liner under the operational leasing arrangement. The aircraft has been named "V. Surikov" in honor of celebrated Russian painter.

This one is the second aircraft acquired by Aeroflot this March. Totally before the end of the year Aeroflot will receive another three Airbus A321 vehicles within the frameworks of earlier effected contracts and three A319 vehicles within the frameworks of new deals. In 2008 the Company anticipates delivery of eleven A320 air vehicles. All airplanes are new ones, delivered right from the Airbus factories.

The lessors are: General Electric Capital Aviation Services ( GECAS ) and Royal Bank of Scotland ( RBS ), AerCap (AER).

Currently Aeroflot operates Airbus A320 air vehicles on a wide spread network of European and internal routes. Interiors of the planes have two service class combination and capable to take onboard 116 (A319), 140 (A320) and 170 (F321) passengers.

Aeroflot's aircraft fleet: - 89 vehicles, including Tupolev-134 - 14, Tupolev -154 – 28, Ilyushin-96 – 6, А319 – 8, А320 – 11, А321 – 7, Boeing 767 – 11, DC-10 - 4.
