Aeroflot Releases Its Consolidated 2006 NET IFRS Income

         
Moscow, June 6 – Aeroflot group of companies today announced its IRFS (International Financial Reporting Standards) net income at 258.1 million US dollars. This figure surpasses the airlines 2005 figures by 36 per cent (68.3 million US dollars).

In 2006, Aeroflot’s IRFS revenue increased by 18.1 per cent to 2982.7 million US dollars, an increase of 456.4 million US dollars. Operational expenses increased 14.1 per cent to 2 605.7 million US dollars.

Aeroflot CFO Mikhail Poluboyarinov attributes the positive financial results to a significant increase in passenger numbers and the strength of Aeroflot’s management team.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines JSC (RTS: AFLT) is Russia’s national airline. With its subsidiaries, it carries an estimated 9 million passengers per year, accounting for 23 per cent of total passenger traffic in Russia. Aeroflot serves 51 per cent of Russia’s international scheduled flights and approximately 12 per cent of the domestic market. In 2005 Aeroflot reported its net income at 189.8 million US dollars.

In 2006 Aeroflot became the first Russian airline to join the global airline alliance SkyTeam. With SkyTeam’s extensive network, Aeroflot provides service to 728 destinations in 149 countries. Passengers also enjoy frequent flyer benefits, redeemable on any SkyTeam flights.

Aeroflot is the only certified operator of the IOSA international aviation operational safety standard in Russia.
