Aeroflot brings the “Sochi-2014” Application Committee back to Moscow with Victory

Tomorrow July 6, with Aeroflot flight from Guatemala Russian delegation, which have taken part in the International Olympic Committee session, will come back to Moscow. As it is known now, the session of the International Olympic Committee has chosen the capital to host XXII Winter Olympic Games 2014, and this capital of the Games is Russian city Sochi.

The Aeroflot SU 4334 flight departures from Guatemala at 5:00 and arrives to Scheremeteyevo-3 in Moscow at 22:25 (Moscow time).

Within the frameworks of cooperation with the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation and Application Committee “Sochi-2014”, Aeroflot, being a partner of the National Olympic Committee of Russia, has arranged special flights on Boeing 767 aircraft on Moscow-Guatemala-Moscow route to deliver Russian delegation, which was participating in a session of the International Olympic Committee.

In obtaining of the relevant flight permits Aeroflot has faced certain difficulties, as Russian companies make practically no flights to this region. However, in view of the importance of the event Aeroflot has managed to allocate required air vehicles even in the deep of high season. Flight control center and aviation technical support center teams, as well as other employees of the Company, have provided timely fueling and technical maintenance of Aeroflot’ aircraft in Guatemala.

Traditionally, since 1994, the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation shows Aeroflot a honor and assigns the Company, being reliable and safe operator, as an official carrier of the National Team. Aeroflot has made a great contribution in cooperating with the Olympic Committee of Russia in preparing of Sochi application as the host city for 2014 Olympic Games, the Company has widely supported all air transportation of sporting delegations and Olympic guests.
