AEROFLOT increases the number of flights to SAINT-PETERSBURG

From 21st of January of this year OAO “Aeroflot – Russian airlines” increases the frequency of flights on the line Moscow – Saint-Petersburg up to seven flights a day within the framework of increasing its activity in the market of the northern capital.
The Aeroflot flight SU 837/838 Moscow – Saint-Petersburg – Moscow will be on daily basis on working days by planes TU-154M.
The departure from Sheremetyevo-1 at 06.25 a.m., arrival to Pulkovo at 07.45 a.m. Departure of the return flight from Pulkovo at 08.45 a.m., arrival to Sheremetyevo-1 at 10.05 a.m.
Such schedule of arrival/departure is particularly convenient for business-passengers. The flight conveniently matches with international and domestic flights of Aeroflot, including Istanbul, Frankfurt, Belgrade, Baku, Yerevan, Krasnodar, etc.

On June 22, 2006 an official opening of the affiliated branch of OAO “Aeroflot – Russian airlines” established on the basis of the air company representative office was held in Saint-Petersburg.
It is stipulated in the agreement signed between the administration of Saint-Petersburg and Aeroflot that Aeroflot increases the tax payments to the budget of Saint-Petersburg, creates new working places, participates together with FGUP “Aeroport Pulkovo” in the development of a new conception of creation a nodal point of air connections (a hub) in Saint-Petersburg, etc., and the government of the city renders assistance to the company in due order.
Expansion of its activity in Saint-Petersburg is considered by Aeroflot as one of the priority directions of development.
The main task of St. Petersburg Aeroflot branch – is to activate the production and commercial activity of the company in the region, to expand the flights geography.

OAO “Aeroflot – Russian airlines” (AFLT) – is the indisputable leader of civil aviation in Russia, the practical national carrier. Being the biggest air company of the country, it carries over 8 mln. people a year, and together with subsidiary companies – about 10 mln., i.e. the quarter of the total number of Russian air passengers. Having at its disposal the fleet of 83 aircrafts, it performs its own flights to 93 points of 47 countries (totally 302 flights per day). It controls 51% of the Russian market of regular international carriages and around 12% of domestic air carriages. The net income for the year 2006 amounted 7,9 bln.rub. (the consolidated income of Aeroflot group 258,1 mln. US dollars according to IFRS).
Aeroflot – is one of the oldest air companies and one of the most well known commercial brands in the world.
