To victims of the Leningrd siege

AEROFLOT SPECIAL OFFER TO VICTIMS OF THE SIEGE OF LENINGRAD

 

Moscow, May 20, 2008. On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad, the Russian airline Aeroflot is making a special offer to victims of the siege of Leningrad. The special offer will be valid from May 30 to June 10, 2008 for flight services to holiday and health resorts. It is carried out as part of an agreement on co-operation in aviation development and promotion of tourism in St. Petersburg as well as on ensuring international, business, cultural and other relations signed with the administration of St. Petersburg. The agreement was signed by Valery Okulov, director general of Aeroflot, and the governor of St. Petersburg, Valentin Matviyenko, on February 29, 2008.

 

Special-offer tickets can be booked from May 30 through June 10 of this year. The flights must also take place between Mai 30 and June 10th 2008. Flight tickets issued through this special offer will be valid for one month.  This special offer applies to all Aeroflot domestic services to destinations in the southern region of the Russian Federation and the Ukraine. Sotschi, Anapa, Krasnodar, Mineralnyje Wody, Simferopol (holiday and health resorts). This offer is not valid on code-sharing flights provided in co-operation with other airlines.

Only victims of the siege of Leningrad, who are citizens of the Russian Federation and permanent residents of St. Petersburg (registered there) and who can submit the following documents, may avail themselves of this special offer:

 

            Certificate confirming the "Victim of the Siege of Leningrad" badge.

            Certificate with the following inscription: "The bearer of this certificate worked and lived in besieged Leningrad during World War II and is entitled to the privileges stipulated in Article 18 of the Federal Act "On Veterans".

            «Identification card of veterans of World War II» bearing the inscription: "The bearer of this identification card is a veteran of World War II and is entitled to the privileges stipulated in Article 18 of the Federal Act "On Veterans".

 

Citizens of St. Petersburg, who are permanent residents of St. Petersburg registered there, will receive an economy-class ticket free of charge; they will be charged the taxes and fees due upon issuance of flight tickets in accordance with the relevant regulations (airport fees and other taxes and charges), but are exempt from fuel surcharges. One-way tickets (only within the Russian Federation) or return flights including transit to Moscow may be booked for the following routes:

 

(а)         St. PetersburgMoscow – destination in the South of the Russian Federation

(b)        St. PetersburgMoscow – destination in the South of the Russian Federation/ UkraineMoscowSt. Petersburg

 

Tickets will be issued only at the cash desks of Aeroflot offices in St. Petersburg. Persons to whom this special offer applies must produce the above documents in addition to their passport and flight ticket when checking in for their flight.

Victims of the siege of Leningrad, who have availed themselves of this special Aeroflot offer may be accompanied by one person (hereinafter referred to as accompanied persons and accompanying persons respectively), if necessary.

 The accompanying person and the accompanied person have to take the same flight on the same dates both ways.

 

A person accompanying a handicapped person of the 1st or 2nd degree of disability shall receive a discount of 25% of the applicable Economy Class rate (with the exception of the "sale" rate). A person accompanying an able-bodied traveller on one of these special-offer flights shall receive a discount of 10% of the applicable Economy Class rate (with the exception of the "sale" rate).

 

The flight ticket for the accompanying person must be acquired at the same time as the special-price ticket and in the same vending office the flight ticket for the accompanied person was issued in. The flight ticket for the accompanying person will be issued only once the flight ticket for the accompanied person has been booked and confirmed for the entire route. If the accompanied person is absent for check-in, the accompanying person will not be permitted to board the flight.

 

Aeroflot is committed to a series of social programmes such as: "support of socially disadvantaged of population groups" – a programme permitting war veterans and disabled ex-service men to travel to veterans' meetings, and victims of the siege of Leningrad to travel to their holiday and health resorts free of charge.

 

Aeroflot's social activities have received public recognition and the International "Patrons of Art of Century" Welfare Fund has awarded the "Golden Patronage Diploma" to Valery Okulov, director general of Aeroflot OAO for their support of sick and handicapped children. These awards attest to the public recognition of the airlines social activities.
