JSC AEROFLOT AND WTB 24 LAUNCH A NEW INTERNET PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR THE COMPANY'S AIR TICKETS

 

Moscow, May 29, 2008 - Today, JSC Aeroflot and WTB 24 bank launched a new payment solution to enable clients of JSC Aeroflot to pay for their airline tickets via internet.

 

With this project a new payment gateway has been developed credit cards via Aeroflot's internet site. The technology implemented makes it easier for the airline's clients to purchase air tickets and significantly increases payment transaction safety. Futher co-operation between WTB 24 and JSC Aeroflot in the internet acquisition sector provides for an extension of the range of accepted payment systems and support of other payment systems for payment of Aeroflot air tickets.

 

According to Aeroflots deputy director general and director of the information technology department, Sergey Kirjushin, introduction of a full-scale and secure payment system together with WTB 24 makes it possible to offer a comprehensive and effective tool for online sale of air tickets. "As of June 1, the airline's entire route network will support electronic tickets and we hope that demand for this online ticketing tool will increase", says Sergey Kirjushin.

 

WTB 24 (general banking operations licence no. 1623 issued by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation) is a subsidiary of OJSC WTB specialised in services for individuals, one-person businesses and small-sized companies.

The bank's registered capital amounts to 30 billion roubles.

WTB 24 boasts 390 branches in Moscow, in the Moscow region and other key cities of the Russian Federation. Part of the services offered by WTB 24 can be accessed by clients 24 hours a day.
