Winter flight schedule 2008/2009 – Aeroflot keeps its strong market position

Moscow, 21st October 2008: Aeroflot presents its actual flight schedule for winter which is valid from 26th October 2008 to 28th March 2009. Passengers are offered connections to new destinations, higher flight frequencies as well as even more Codeshare flights with our international partner airlines.

94 international destinations Aeroflot flies to 47 countries around the globe, 5 of which are member countries of the CIS (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan). Of 94 existing Aeroflot destinations, 38 are in Europe, 5 in America, 2 in Africa, 5 in the Middle East and 10 in Asia. Aeroflot offers 38 connections to Russian destinations: Anapa, Astrakhan, Barnaul, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Magadan, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhnevartovsk, Novosibirsk, Norilsk, Omsk, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Surgut, Tyumen, Ufa, Vladivostok, Volgograd und Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Aeroflot connects Moscow to 6 cities in CIS countries: Baku, Bishkek, Yerevan, Kiev, Simferopol and Tashkent.

Due to the ongoing financial crisis, Aeroflot is going to employ petrol saving A320 family aircraft (A319, A320 und A321) during the winter flight schedule 2008/09. Some of the more cost-intensive Tu-154 will be put out of action. The following routes will henceforward be operated on Airbus: Moscow – Antalya – Moscow (A320), Moscow – Budapest – Moscow (A319), Moscow – Oslo – Moscow (A320), Moscow – Bucharest – Moscow (A320), Moscow – Zagreb – Moscow (A319);

In the Middle East: Moscow – Beirut – Moscow (A319), Moscow – Damascus – Moscow (A320);
In Russia: Moscow – Irkutsk – Moscow (A319, A320), Moscow – Krasnoyarsk – Moscow (A320, A321);
In the CIS: Moscow – Kiev – Moscow (A320). Flights to Tokyo and Shanghai will be operated on the brand-new A330, as soon as it will be delivered in November 2008.
We will operate 71 destinations with our partner airlines via Codeshare (to 50 international and 21 Russian cities).

Aeroflot’s winter flight schedule will see farther intensified flight frequency as well as strengthened cooperation with Russian airlines, predominantly Aeroflot subsidiaries, and with international SkyTeam partner airlines.

Routes that have been introduced with the summer flight schedule 2008 are going to stay operative: Moscow – Bratislava – Moscow, Moscow – Khabarovsk – Moscow, Moscow – Norilsk – Moscow, Moscow – Tyumen – Moscow, Krasnoyarsk – Norilsk – Moscow.

Aeroflot offers an enhanced number of weekly flights on the following routes: Moscow – Amsterdam – Moscow (from 7 to 14), Moscow – Antalya – Moscow (from 3 to 7), Moscow – Istanbul – Moscow (from 14 to 21), Moscow – Karlovy Vary – Moscow (from 1 to 3), Moscow – Prague – Moscow (from 14 to 21), Moscow – Warsaw– Moscow (from 9 to 11), Moscow – Havana – Moscow (from 3 to 4), Moscow – Shanghai – Moscow (from 6 to 7), Moscow – Cairo – Moscow (from 3 to 4), Moscow – Dubai – Moscow (from 7 to 14), Moscow – Krasnoyarsk – Moscow (from 7 to 21), Moscow – St. Petersburg – Moscow (from 44 to 55), Moscow – Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Moscow (from 2 to 5).

Through the SkyTeam alliance membership our passengers are able to enjoy extended service offers, the whole SkyTeam flight network and better connection times. The enlargement of the fleet enables additional increases in flight frequency on the most highly demanded routs as well as more intensive cooperation with our partner airlines.

From the winter flight schedule 2008/09 Aeroflot Russian Airlines and China Southern, alliance partners within the framework of the jointly signed Codeshare agreement, are going to offer the new connection Urumqi – Moscow – Urumqi.

Our subsidiary “Aeroflot Cargo” flies to 7 airports around the world: Hahn, Helsinki, Tokyo (Narita), Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul. These flights are going to be operated with Aeroflot’s own “RCF/SU” code on MD-11 aircraft.
