Performance in 7 Months of 2009

AEROFLOT PERFORMANCE IN JULY AND 7 MONTHS OF 2009

July 27, 2009, Moscow. – JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has summarized its results in July and 7 months of 2009. In July 2009, the company carried 891.0 thousand passengers (including 18.9 thousand passengers by charter), and performed 2.618 billion passenger kilometers. Passenger load factor amounted to 77.5% - which practically equals the past year’s figure (77.8%).

Workload in terms of passengers carried was 97% against the 2008’s level – a drop of 3.0%, or 28.0 thousand passengers. 
The production figures of July show a slowdown in carriage decrease seen in the first months of 2009.

In the seven months of 2009, Aeroflot carried 4.744 thousand passengers, and performed 13.956 million passenger kilometers. Over the 7 months, the company has seen a drop in workload compared to the figures of 2008: in passenger carriage by 10.6%, in passenger turnover by 9.4%.

AEROFLOT is headquartered in Moscow, in the Sheremetyevo International Airport. Russia’s largest carrier, the company flew 9.3 million passengers in 2008, together with its subsidiaries, 11.6 million passengers. Aeroflot operates its own flights to 95 destinations in 48 countries. It accounts for over 45% of Russia’s scheduled international traffic. The company strives to enhance its share of domestic traffic, which now is 12.5% (with its subsidiaries, 17%).
Aeroflot is a member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance. Aeroflot has given its customers an access to a route network covering 928 in 174 countries (more info is available on our website www.skyteam.com). Aeroflot operates code-sharing agreements with 29 foreign and Russian airline companies.
Aeroflot has one of Europe’s youngest air fleets that consists of 105 aircrafts, more than half are state-of-the-art airliners. The air fleet is being regularly replenished. The company plans receiving the new generation Russian airplanes Sukhoi SuperJet-100.
Aeroflot complies with the highest international safety standards. Following the results of the International Air Transport Association’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), the company has become the first Russian carrier to be included in the IOSA Registry. In 2009, Aeroflot confirmed its IOSA status for the 3rd time. Since March 2008, the company’s Quality Management System has been certified as complying with ISO 9001:2000.
