Aeroflot temporarily suspends flights to Kazakhstan

March 26 2016, Moscow. – Starting from March 26, 2016 Aeroflot has suspended regular flights to Kazakhstan. This forced step relates to the fact that Kazakhstan hasn’t provided yet an awaited approval documents to Aeroflot for flight operations according to the summer schedule that comes into effect on March 27, 2016. The approval hasn’t been issued despite the fact that Aeroflot is a designated carrier on those lines and submitted a necessary application back in February 12, 2016.

From March 27, 2016 to October 29, 2016 Aeroflot was planning to perform flights from Moscow to seven destinations in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Karaganda, Shymkent.

Aeroflot announces changes in flight schedule. The following flights are cancelled for March 26-27, 2016:

Mar 26 - SU 1946 SVO, 18:35 (UTC) – Almaty; 

Mar 26 - SU 1956 SVO, 20:40 (UTC) – Astana;

Mar 27 - SU 1957 Astana, 01:25 (UTC) – SVO;

Mar 26 - SU 1950 SVO, 19:25 (UTC) – Shymkent;

Mar 27 - SU 1951 Shymkent, 00:10 (UTC) – SVO;

Mar 26 - SU 1936 SVO, 19:15 (UTC) – Karaganda;

Mar 27 - SU 1937 Karaganda, 00:10 (UTC) – SVO;

Mar 26 - SU 1954 SVO, 21:05 (UTC) – Aktau;

Mar 27 - SU 1955 Aktau, 01:00 (UTC) – SVO;

Mar 26 - SU 1958 SVO, 21:05 (UTC) – Atyrau;

Mar 27 - SU 1959 Atyrau, 01:05 (UTC) – SVO.

Aeroflot passengers of the mentioned flights are able to return their tickets without incurring penalties at place of ticket’s purchase.

Aeroflot recommends its passengers to refrain from flights to/from Kazakhstan within the next three days.
