Aeroflot Sells “Vladivistok Air” Block of Shares

March 25, 2013 MOSCOW

JSC «Aeroflot — Russian Airlines» transferred 52,156 % block of shares in «Vladivistok Air» (member of Aeroflot Group of companies) to JSC «SAT Airlines» (100% subsidiary of Aeroflot). This was made following the decision of Aeroflot Board of Directors about the creation of united Far Eastern Airline (DVA) within Aeroflot Group.

The new member in Aeroflot Group of companies will satisfy the growing demand for regional flights offering the highest service standards in one of the most impressively developing regions of the country — Russia’s Far East.

The creation of Far Eastern Airline (DVA) will contribute significantly to the social-economic development of this vast region with a powerful economic potential and will let Aeroflot Group become one of the leading air carriers in Asia-Pacific.

The establishment of Far Eastern Airline (DVA) is one of the key elements of Aeroflot Group strategy aimed at the creation of a large aviation holding which will successfully compete with the leaders of the global civil aviation.

According to the Strategy three powerful regional aviation centers will be created — in the South, North-West and Far East of Russia. Aeroflot Group passenger traffic will triple by 2025, securing Aeroflot Group place in the World’s top-20 and Europe’s top-5 global air carriers by passenger traffic.

Celebrating its 90-th anniversary in 2013, Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship airline and the largest national air company. Proudly being a member of SkyTeam global airline alliance, Aeroflot with its partnering members provides service to 1000 destinations in 187 countries. Aeroflot operates one of the most modern and youngest fleets in Europe counting 131 aircraft formed by Airbus, Boeing and Sukhoi airliners with an average airplane age of 5 years. In 2012 Aeroflot carried 17,7 million passengers, continuously showing the best results in modern Russia’s history. In the same year Aeroflot received Readers’ Choice Condé Nast Traveller Award as the best Russian airline. Find more at www.aeroflot.ru
