Greetings from Vitaly Saveliev, General Director of JSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines"
Welcome aboard Aeroflot!
August marks the height of the season: the time for mass vacations and the peak for air transportation, which is a kind of acid test for airlines. Wherever you are going, be it on business or for pleasure, I am sincerely happy you have chosen Aeroflot.
Your choice is well founded. Aeroflot has been officially recognized as the best airline in Eastern Europe: our company has once again won an international World Airline Award, given annually to the world's best carriers by the British consulter Skytrax, the most reputable global rater of air transport services. The festive awards ceremony took place at the Farnborough International Airshow last month.
Aeroflot receives the title of the best airline in Eastern Europe for the second year running and for the third time in the company's history.
Each time this honorable title is the result of hard work. Over 200 world top carriers aspire to different nominations of the international World Airline Awards annually. Winners are defined through an online survey of over 18 million passengers from 160 countries, which is conducted in English, Spanish, Chinese and Russian. The grade is calculated based on over 40 key elements of service. This is the largest passenger satisfaction study in the globe.
Thanks to its major efforts, Aeroflot has successfully passed a serious international examination once again. A global supplier of premium level air transport services, our company tops Euro- pean charts of business and economy class service quality, as well as offering some of the best catering among European airlines, as witnessed by industry surveys.
Aeroflot has introduced a new "Comfort" service class onboard Boeing 777. Moreover, with our "Internet on board" program Wi-Fi access is now available on 26 long-range aircraft.
We do our best to make your voyage very comfortable, as well as strictly on time. In 2013, Aeroflot entered the European top five in terms of punctuality according to FlightStats statistical agency ratings. As of May 2014, for the first time, the company has been recognized as the most punctual airline in the world with over 90% of flights operated strictly on schedule.
Our commitment to the customer underpins and further de- velops our substantial client base. The company boasts a Net Promoter Score index, which has risen for the third year in a row. In 2013, we got 58%, which is above a number of other global players.
Your loyalty is crucial to us. It is your voice that makes up the major evaluation of our work, translating into top ratings, business success and our reputation.
A third Best Eastern Europe Airline title from Skytrax is not just an acknowledgement of our service quality leadership. This is a bid for higher ratings and new, well-deserved global titles for our product.
Service development is a strategic priority for our company and for the whole Aeroflot Group. And we are fully committed to new achievements in this direction.

The issue’s heroes: renowned conductor and philanthropist Vladimir Spivakov, TV documentary maker and chronicler Leonid Parfenov, one of the most successful and private businessmen of Hong Kong Lui Che Woo.
Fans of slow reading and long-haul flights will find articles to their tastes: science – three questions about the synthesis phenomenon and an excerpt from a book by London Mayor Boris Johnson Johnson’s Life of London. English-speaking readers of Aeroflot Premium can find all the articles and editorials in English.
The August issue of Aeroflot STYLE continues the theme of summer holidays while preparing for the approach of autumn. This month, specially for our little trendsetters who will soon have to go to school, we offer a special selection of children’s clothes. The main adult trends are rave wear in acid colours, safari (everyone’s favourite), and, of course, all shades of white (a colour that’s so difficult to give up before summer is properly over!). Our main heroine, the wonderful Jessica Alba, reflects on how difficult it is to be a sex symbol when that’s not what you need in life… And the main destination for August is the Cote d’Azur: this month we look at small medieval towns and the noisy Riviera.
